I love the military but only joining if I have to, but when that moment comes I want to choose a branch that I will like. So I’m considering the two best options for my personality, the US Army or the US Marines which one should I choose? I want decent money starting out but I also want to be the toughest MF on the battlefield and I also want to be in infantry a lot.

When people are trained to use outdated fighter plains. Is there training different from the training the original pilots of said fighter got. Say a military needs someone to pilot an f-4 because that's all that is a available. Well they train him like an American that got it during the cold war, or will they give different advice given the disadvantages he would be at.

I’m sad to announce that Tsuneji Oyama, a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest surviving veteran of World War II, passed away today at age 111. He was born in Kiyama, Saga Prefecture, Japan on January 9, 1913. At age 30 in 1943 he was drafted by the military and dispatched to China leaving his wife and two young daughters behind. Shortly before World War II ended in 1945 he returned to Japan to safeguard the country, managing to avoid being sent to Siberia. He battled several health issues during his life. When he was in his 70s he suffered from prostate and heart ailments but managed to make a complete recovery. At the age of 106 in December 2019 he was moved into an aged care facility by his family. Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic Mr. Oyama was still able to enjoy visits from his family. He was still able to walk with the help of a walker until the age of 110 in March 2023. Following the death of Andre Ludwig of France just three weeks before his own passing he became the oldest surviving veteran of World War II. At the time of his death he was the second oldest man in Japan behind Gisaburo Sonobe. May Tsuneji Oyama rest in peace (1913-2024).
