Engagements Kurdish–Turkish conflict

The 1st Commando Brigade (Turkish language: 1. Komando Tugayı) is a brigade of the Turkish Army, located in Kayseri.[1] Founded as a paratrooper brigade. Brigade also contains fireteams from mountain commando brigades like Hakkari Mountain and Commando Brigade. Parachute training is given in this brigade to every soldier in the army.

The Brigade was involved in the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, and fought beside airborne commandos (Bolu) and Naval Infantry Brigade (Izmir).

In 1988, 7000 commandos got training from the United States. Officially, the first "Unconventional Warfare" has been applied in training this year, then sent to the southeastern Turkey. End of the 222-day operations all of the soldiers have returned, even without a single KIA. Brigade's motto is: "I'm strong, I'm brave, I'm Ready" is. Although is not airborne brigade anymore, paratroops are also available on site.
