}}The 4th Military Intelligence Battalion known operationally as (4 MI Battalion) is a military intelligence battalion of the Intelligence Corps within the British Army. The battalion is one of four regular battalions within the corps.[1]

The battalion is under the operational command of the 1st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade.[2] The battalion directly supports the Headquarters of the 3rd (United Kingdom) Division and the armoured infantry brigades.[3] The battalion also supports the units based in London, South of England, and Germany.[3] The battalion is currently organised as the following:[3]

  • Battalion Headquarters
  • Headquarters Company
  • Close Support Intelligence Section
  • General Support Intelligence Section
  • Battle Group Intelligence Support Section
  • Counter Intelligence and Security Section

The battalions is currently based at Picton Barracks in Bulford Camp and paired with the 7th Battalion based in Bristol.[2][3] The bristol also controls the Land Intelligence Fusion Centre based in Hermitage.[1] The battalion controls sub-units at Aldershot Garrison, Bovington Camp, and Germany.[1]
