The 7.62x37mm Musang is an assault rifle round developed and manufactured in the Philippines. The round's case is derived from the 5.56x45 mm NATO, but necked-up to accept a 250 grains (16 g) bullet intended for subsonic speeds. The new cartridge was developed in the context of Philippines' Night Fighting Weapon System.[1]

The 7.62x37mm Musang round is unrelated to the Soviet 7.62x39mm M43 round.
