7 South African Infantry Battalion is a motorised infantry unit of the South African Army.

7 SAI was established on Ocotber 1, 1973 at Bourke's Luck, Eastern Transvaal (Mpumalanga) by Commandant Eddie Webb.[1] The first national servicemen began training in 1974.[1] The unit would relocate to Phalaborwa in 1981.[1] 7SAI took part in Operation Boleas in 1998 in Lesotho to restore order after an army coup.[1] In 2002, the unit took part in the Africa peace mission to restore stability in Burundi.[1]
