There were two battles of Faringdon:
- Battle of Faringdon (1145) Stephen defeated Matilda's forces.[1]
- On 29 April 1645 Oliver Cromwell attacked Faringdon House, though without success.
- Battle of Faringdon (1645) fought on 2 May when the leading troops of Lord Goring's command destroyed part of Oliver Cromwell's own regiment near Faringdon
