Bernard "Bernie" Eunie Thompson[1] (August 17, 1924 - January 18, 1988) was a United States Coast Guard Rear Admiral.
Early life
Bernie was born on August 17, 1924 in St. Louis County, Minnesota to Bernie and Eunice L. Thompson. He later graduated from high school.

- July 27, 1943-July 18, 1944: Enlisted in the United States Army.
- 1944-1948: Attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, graduated in 1948 and was commissioned an Ensign in the Coast Guard.

Personal life
He married Marie Woodbridge and together they had two children (Craig and Karen).
Death
Bernie passed away on January 18, 1988 in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 63. It was from natural causes. He was buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Northwood, New Hampshire.
