The structure of the British Army before the reforms from Army 2020. Because Army 2020 was implemented in 2 stages (Army 2020 and Army 2020 Refine), this ORBAT will show before the original Army 2020 (before 2010, roughly January 2008).[1][2][3][4]

Overall Structure

Allied Rapid Reaction Corps

vignette|Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) badge. The Allied Rapid Reaction Corps was formed in 1993 as the effective successor to all NATO forces in Europe. The HQ was formed at JHQ Rheindalen in Western Germany, and would control six NATO divisions on mobilisation. The main HQ was lead and manned by the British Army, though the HQ was in-effect multinational. Under Army 2020, the corps HQ was moved to Imjin Barracks, Innsworth, but before 2013 the entirety of the corps HQ was based in Germany. If the ARRC was to be mobilised (in this case before 2013), the 1st (UK) Armoured Division would be part of the first echelon, followed by the 3rd (UK) Mechanised Division.

Field Army

The forces in Germany were dramatically reduced after the end of the Cold War, but the main force of the army was still in Germany and in 2019-2020 the army will be out of Germany completely.[1]
