Dr. jur. Bruno Franz Arnold Anton Freiherr von Brackel[Note 1] (20 December 1911 – 13 August 1941) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Wehrmacht during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Bruno Freiherr von Brackel was killed on 13 August 1941, near Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, Ukraine. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 23 August 1941 and was later promoted to Hauptmann.
