Corpo d'Armata Motocorazzato (English: Motorised and armoured army corps) was an Italian military unit established on 25 July 1943. The unit was led by general Giacomo Carboni.[1][2]

History[]

The corps was established after the deposition of Benito Mussolini and was formed with the most efficients division of Regio Esercito. The goal of the Corps was to defend Rome from an allied invasion but from the first days of September after the sign of Armistice of Cassibile its primary task was to defend Rome from Germans. After Badoglio Proclamation units of the corps fought against Germans but also due the lack of orders from the highest political and militaries authorities the corps was disbanded in the days following 11 September 1943.
