Donald Joseph Abare (4 August 1918 in Vermont - 20 October 1945) was an American Private First Class in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.

Early life[edit | edit source]

Donald was born on 4 August 1918 in Vermont to John J. and Elmira M. Abare. He also had nine sisters (Wyona, Shirley, Margaret, Laura, Ethel, Rose, Dorothy, Alberta, and Helen) and a brother (Francis).

Military service[edit | edit source]

Donald enlisted from Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 13 January 1942 (ASN: 31026863) in the United States Army. He would later join the United States Army Air Forces, serving with the 652nd Bombardment Squadron, 3d Air Division.

Death[edit | edit source]

He died a non-battle death on 20 October 1945. He was buried in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Saint Albans, Vermont.
