Operation Emery[1] was a series of twelve nuclear tests conducted at the Nevada Test Site. These explosions occurred in 1970 and 1971, after the Mandrel series and before Grommet.

The Baneberry blast was notable for the 6.7 million curies (250 petabecquerels)[2] of radioactive material that escaped through unanticipated cracks in the ground. A six month moratorium was placed on the US nuclear testing program.[3]
