The Goulandris I (P-289) was, along with Goulandris II (P-290), a series of two coastal patrol boats built by Neorion shipyards and donated to the Hellenic Navy in 1975 and 1977 respectively.[1] They were 40-ton, 24 m long boats, powered by two 1350 hp diesel engines, and armed with a 20mm gun. Goulandris I was decommissioned in 1990. Goulandris II was destroyed by fire and sunk south of Lesbos Island (38°54.7′N 26°28′E / 38.9117°N 26.467°E) without casualties on June 24, 1983[2][3]
