Hardy Cross Dillard (23 October 1902 – 12 May 1982) was an American lawyer who served as a judge on the International Court of Justice from 1970 to 1979.[1] He previously served as Dean of the University of Virginia School of Law from 1963 to 1968.[2]
Life and career[]
Dillard completed his Bachelor of Science degree at West Point in 1924, but resigned his commission because of the limited military activity of the time. He earned his J.D. from University of Virginia in 1927 and joined the faculty that year.
The Hardy Cross Dillard Prize at University of Virginia is named in his honor.
