James Low (born 9 March 1894, date of death unknown) was a Scottish footballer. He played for Elgin City ,[citation needed] Hearts,[1] Rangers[citation needed] and Newcastle United[citation needed] as a right winger. Low also represented the Scottish League twice.[2] He was born in Ayrshire.[citation needed]
Low played for Hearts either side of the First World War.[1] During the war he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders.[citation needed] Low played 123 games and scored 8 goals for Newcastle United between 1921 to 1928.[citation needed] It was said that James could easily beat two men at a time and he became a favourite of the Geordie fans.[citation needed] He was an FA Cup winner for them in 1924.
