Justin Vélez-Hagan (born February 24, 1980) is a policy analyst and author of the book, The Common Sense behind Basic Economics: A Guide for Budding Economists, Students, and Voters.[1][2][3][4] He is a frequent news and opinion contributor, having contributed articles to Fox News,[5] Forbes,[6] and The Hill newspaper in Washington, D.C.,[7] among others. He also founded the National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce, based in Washington, D.C., and currently serves as its executive director.[8][9][10][11] As a former member of the U.S. Air Force, Vélez-Hagan deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2012 during Operation Enduring Freedom.[12][13]
