Rear Admiral Michael Joseph Noonan AM, RAN is the Commander Border Protection Command (CBPC) of the Royal Australian Navy.
Senior command[]
Rear Admiral Noonan was the commissioning Commanding Officer of HMAS Parramatta and commanded it until March 2005. Admiral Noonan served as Commodore Training (COMTRAIN) for the Royal Australian Navy and the Director-General of Operations at the Headquarters Joint Operations Command under Lieutenant General Ash Power.[citation needed]
From 2006-2008, Admiral Noonan was the Director of Sailors Career Management. During this time, this position saw considerable evolution within Navy's personnel and career management system.[citation needed]
He has been awarded the Commendation for Distinguished Service on two occasions, and is a Member of the Order of Australia.[1]
