The Mossberg M-590 is the military variant of the pump-action shotgun Mossberg 500.

with the gun (pump action shotguns). Released in 1962 year. Now available in various versions, for both hunting, and for Police, Security and self-defense. Hunting versions are available with length of barrels 24, 26 or 28 inches (61, 66 or 71 cm) with different, including replacement, chokes, ventilated rib or rifle sights, shops for 5-6 rounds. Modifications are not intended for hunting, are shop for 5-8 rounds, sight consisting of a front sight or diopter sights, and barrel length of 14, 18.5 or 20 inches (36, 47 or 51 cm) with a cylindrical drilling to allow use of almost any caliber of the bullets. Shotguns are available in variants of 12-th (500A), 20 th (500C) and .410 th (500E) caliber chambered in 76 mm (a variant of a gun 12-gauge chambered in 89mm).

For military purposes produced version Mossberg 590, featuring a different mount the barrel to the store (nut instead of screws), a more durable black finish and a number of other changes.

In Mexico, under the name of Maverick in 1988 produced a cheaper version of the Mossberg M-590, distinguished by slight changes in the structure
