No. 17 Squadron Indian Air Force is a squadron of the Indian Air Force. It was formed on 1 October 1951, and initially flew de Havilland Vampire F. Mk 52 fighters. It now operates the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21M. It is stationed at Bhisiana as part of Western Air Command.[1]

It was moved from the East to Delhi during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War to provide air cover for the capital.[2]

It was awarded it's President's Standard on 8 November 1988 at Palam.[3]
