During the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, Operation Abilene was a series of a dozen small raids conducted on the night of 8 December 2003 in Al Anbar province. During these raids twelve people were captured as well as a number of weapons.

Abilene is a city in the state of Texas. It is featured in a well-know lesson at the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College warning against the dangers of 'groupthink.'
