The Air Force Institute of Aviation Technology (Initials: AFIAT), is an accredited and graduate school operated and managed by the Pakistan Air Force. It is located at PAF Base Korangie-Creek at the Korangi Creek Military District, in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is a component of Air University and the Air Force Education Command, the school has been awarding degrees in Aero mechanics and Aviation electronics as well as offering courses in Aerospace studies.
Primary purpose of PAF Institute of Aviation Technology is to provide specialized education on aerospace science and mechanical engineering to the officers and enlisted Pakistan Military personnel and civilians at the post-graduate level. The Naval Engineering College (NEC) and Military College of Engineering (MCC) serves a smiliar purpose. The AFIAT, with NEC and MCC, are not the specialized staff college or war colleges instead the school focused on giving and training education on science and technology. The school is affiliated with NED University of Engineering and Technology and contains a civilian faculty. While the school is not restricted to military officers, civilians can take an admission and enlist on departmental courses offers to military personnel.
