Peter Anthony Janis (born Peter Anthony Jansizewski) (14 March 1915 in Westfield, Massachusetts - 6 November 1997 in Westfield, Massachusetts) was a Polish American veteran who served in the United States Navy during World War II.


Peter was born on 14 March 1915 in the town of Westfield, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Navy during World War II reaching the rank of Machinists Mate Second Class.[1] After the war he married Kathryn H. Burek and taught in the Carpentry Department at Westfield Vocational High School until his retirement. He also was the basketball team's coach at the school. He passed away on 6 November 1997 in Westfield. He was buried in St. Marys Cemetery.
