Other projects

I primarily edit the Military wiki but I also have edited a number of others including:

Stuff I'm working on

Build up the project Phase 1
  1. Import Milhist articles from Wikipedia
  2. Remove ntemplates, links and crap (Persondata, stub tags, portals, maintenance tags, Wikipedia specific, nonmilitary links, etc.) - Working
  3. Link to Wikipedia article where appropriate
  4. Create or import missing templates that are needed and useful - Working
  5. Pull in images for Medals and high use photos - Working
Phase 2
  1. Create assessment of articles possibly similar to the assessment system in use at Wikipedia. Potentially use rank symbols like 4(Featured quality), 3(A-class), 2(Good), 1(BClass) stars and maybe Private for a stub and Sergeant or Capt for a Start.
  2. Once assessment is developed, tag the articles as applicable
  3. Develop some collaborations (Military history project on Wikipedia, National Archives, Naval History, others)
  4. Restructure main page.
Phase 3
  1. Create articles for missing ships
    1. Start forming lists
  2. Create articles for missing MOH recipients
    1. Start forming lists
  3. Create articles for missing American Civil War generals
    1. Start forming lists
  4. Other missing articles
    1. Suicide in the United States (separate article for each branch)
    2. Hall of valor website
      1. Navy cross and equivalent medals - According to this link the Navy Cross has been awarded more than 6300 times. We only have pages for about 680 recipients currently.
    3. Lists of Base Commanders

Dear Madam,
I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts, that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully, Abraham Lincoln
