Hello, I'm Reguyla. My username is formed from a combination of letters from my first, middle and last names. I live in Virginia, USA and just for the sake of clarity I am a male.

I retired from the Virginia Army National Guard and I was active duty in the United States Marine Corps for 13 years until I got hurt and was discharged. I also work for the United States Navy in Washington, DC. I have two Master's degrees from the University of Maryland; one is in Biotechnology security and defense and the other is in Business administration. I also have a Masters degree from the Naval War College in National Security and Strategic studies and a Masters certificate in Legislative affairs from Georgetown University.

Stuff I'm working on

Build up the project Phase 1
  1. Import Milhist articles from Wikipedia
  2. Remove ntemplates, links and crap (Persondata, stub tags, portals, maintenance tags, Wikipedia specific, nonmilitary links, etc.) - Working
  3. Link to Wikipedia article where appropriate
  4. Create or import missing templates that are needed and useful - Working
  5. Pull in images for Medals and high use photos - Working
Phase 2
  1. Create assessment of articles possibly similar to the assessment system in use at Wikipedia. Potentially use rank symbols like 4(Featured quality), 3(A-class), 2(Good), 1(BClass) stars and maybe Private for a stub and Sergeant or Capt for a Start.
  2. Once assessment is developed, tag the articles as applicable
  3. Develop some collaborations (Military history project on Wikipedia, National Archives, Naval History, others)
  4. Restructure main page.

  1. Create articles for missing ships
    1. Start forming lists
  2. Create articles for missing MOH recipients
    1. Start forming lists
  3. Create articles for missing American Civil War generals

      1. Navy cross and equivalent medals - According to this link the Navy Cross has been awarded more than 6300 times. We only have pages for about 680 recipients currently.
