Johannes Adam (September 22, 1923 in Nossen) was from 1942 to 1945 a German Wachmann who worked at the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II.

The worker's son John Adam put 1942 in Nossen the Abitur from and then joined the Schutzstaffel (SS). As a security guard with the rank of rotting leader he was in the concentration camp Auschwitz operates primarily in the satellite camp Monowitz .  Here were forced laborers interned, the activities for the chemical company IG Farben were forced. 
After the end of World War II Adam remained unmolested and studied from 1947 until completion of the diploma in 1952 mathematics at the Technische Hochschule (TH) Dresden and the University of Leipzig . From 1952 to 1955, Adam lecturer of the Workers 'and Peasants' Faculty Dresden and from 1955 to 1959 employees in industrial institute of the TH Dresden.
In 1959 Adam was at the Chair of Social Hygiene of the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. 1960 Adam was with the work "probability and statistics as a matter of mathematics education of the general polytechnical secondary school, in particular the extended secondary school" at the Pedagogical University Potsdam doctorate , in 1965 with the work "The methods of medical statistics as an aid to the cause of research in the social hygiene" to the Martin Luther University Halle habilitated .
There he was a lecturer from 1965 and 1968 received a professorship with tenure of Medical Statistics and physical and mathematical biology. From 1970 to 1989 Professor Adam with the Department of Medical Statistics and data processing and from 1982 Director of the Institute of Biostatistics and computer science at the University of Halle.
His field comprised the Medical Biometry , statistics, computer science, sociology and epidemiology .
From 1972 to 1978, Adam director of research of the area Medicine of the University of Halle. From 1978 to 1982 Adam was also chairman of the Society of Physical and Mathematical Biology in the GDR . 1975 and 1976 was Adam visiting professor at the University of Baghdad . In 1988 he finished his university career.
2013 determined the prosecution Halle (Saale) against him on suspicion of multiple aid to murder during his time as concentration camp guard. The case was closed, however, because the 90-year-old Adam neither of interrogations nor because of a serious illness to stand trial was.
