Wilhelm Okrent was Obergefreiter of the Wehrmacht and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

Life[]

Wilhelm Okrent fought in the second world war for the 4th Kompanie of the 116th Tank Artillery Regiment of the 5th Panzer Division as a cannoneer in a tank. His duties as Cannoneer were aiming and moving the gun of the tank for shooting at the targets. For his participation in the German-Soviet war he received the Eastern Front Medal. He also received Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on 2 April 1943. Before that he had also received the Iron cross, second and first class.

Wilhelm Okrent has been called a missing person since VE-Day in Prague. He was declared dead by court due to a draft of family members according to the Verschollenheitsgesetz in 1949.
